It was almost instantly #1 in multiple categories in the US and became an International Best Seller that very first day!
In this wonderful children’s book, Mariah and her multicultural friends travel around the world, experiencing different customs and traditions as they solve mysteries, with help from Grandpa and their combined superpowers.
In volume 1, Mariah and her friends must travel to Accra, Ghana to help Nana Osei Tutu, King of the Ashanti Nation, save his daughter. Mariah’s magical dog, Kobi, also travels with them, as they work together to solve the mystery.

Alysse is passionate about the importance of reading for all ages. She realized as a little girl that books are a portal to any place or time in the universe. As a former elementary school teacher and district administrator, she knows firsthand the power and importance of opportunity and exposure for children. Alysse received her undergraduate degree in English from Oglethorpe University and her master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Georgia State University. She has worked in the K-12 education sector for over 20 years.
Alysse created Adventures with Mariah! to encourage young readers to know that knowledge is a “superpower,” and they can be or do anything! Her hope is that children will be inspired to learn as they explore cities and cultures around the world. Alysse is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and resides in Atlanta, GA with her three daughters.
