The initiative will support free and unlimited secure virtual visits, appointment scheduling and digital prescription of GI education modules in collaboration with AGA

NEW YORK, NY, April 15, 2020 /Neptune100/ — In response to the COVID-19 crisis, the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA) and Rx.Health have announced the launch of a nationwide Virtual Care Hub and Telehealth facility for GI practices. The initiative expands upon their existing partnership providing the GI community with an endoscopy transformation network.

The Virtual Care Hub and Telehealth, delivered via Rx.Health’s digital health platform, will support converting in-person appointments to secure video visits, conducting virtual visits through multiple telehealth options (on-demand or pre-scheduled) and digital prescription of GI education modules including those from the AGA patient education center.

“This is a period of crisis for not only our patients and communities but also for health care organizations and GI practices nationwide,” said Tom Serena, CEO of AGA. “By supporting seamless transition to virtual care, we are enabling a new model that allows AGA to support continuity of care during the COVID-19 crisis and help our members, patients and communities.”

“Through AGA’s unparalleled subject matter, we have been able to support endoscopy centers with digital care pathways to decrease no-show, increase recall and improve preparation,” said Gaurav Narang, VP Strategic partnerships at Rx.Health. “We are now able to extend the current model and support a complete end-to-end virtual care including patient onboarding, appointment reminders, telehealth visits, and post-visit digital care plans – with no usage cost during the COVID-19 crisis.”
