In June of 2019 the US Department of Justice announced an $11-million-dollar settlement with a defense contractor to settle allegations it supplied electrical connectors to the military that had not been properly tested. The contractor sold the untested connectors both directly to the Government and through distributors and other government contractors which incorporated them into technology and equipment sold to the Government. The Department of Justice alleged the company knew about failures with their product as early as 2011-but never disclosed this information to the government.
