May 3, 2019 – NY – Fashion doesn’t stop on the runway when Janvi Ghatalia is part of the production! A rising talent on the fashion scene, Janvi has also been donating her time to entertain and inspire children over the last year. Volunteering on weekends and after her busy and glamorous job in the heart of Fashion Avenue, she has designed costumes for The Shadow Box Theatre, a nonprofit that serves inner-city children. The Shadow Box Theatre puts on plays, musical theater performances and puppet shows. Relying on her professional fashion experience, Janvi has created costumes and accessories for a variety of shows such as “The Earth and Me”, performed in April.

Audiences and actors can’t say enough about her creations! While many people know that budgets in the world of high fashion can be enormous, this is certainly not the case with nonprofit organizations like The Shadow Box Theatre. But looking at her outfits, you’d never know they weren’t produced with a budget straight out of the most glamorous design houses! From sashes and buckles that made “The Earth and Me” an enchanting spectacle to her full-costume designs, this designer’s efforts have been awe-inspiring. She also contributed her time and devoted herself to creating compelling garments as well as accessories. Already a stellar presence in the ready-to-wear fashion industry, Janvi has proven herself to also be a shining star in the world of theatrical costume design.
