Calforex made the switch to Sage X3 in 2013, but prior to that, the company’s controller Dave Wilson recalls, “We were using an entry-level accounting system that was completely under powered for what we were asking of it. We needed multi-company, multi-currency, multi-language and multi-legislative capabilities and we got that with our move to Sage X3.”
The Answer Company worked extensively with Calforex’s accounting firm, performing the initial discovery work to truly understand their business needs and locate their pain points. The company’s operations included a multitude of small, discrete transactions that could arrive in any of dozens of different currencies but Sage X3 was able to handle those processes without a problem. The switch to Sage X3 allowed Calforex to pivot into a new, more efficient and informative direction. They could now process massive amounts of data while quickly entering new markets and adding legislation packs to ensure compliance in new areas. Wilson adds, “We also appreciate the underlying SQL database. The table structure makes sense and we’re able to create the reports and queries we need for each division and across the company as a whole.”
Its scalability was also deeply appreciated when Calforex launched Reach, an independent operation based in the UK. Sage X3 was able to take on this daunting move while the team at The Answer Company made sure there were no slip-ups.
