Annuity product education, philanthropy and football were on the agenda at San Diego event
MADISON, WI, September 27, 2019 /Neptune100/ — Nearly 175 financial advisors from broker/dealers across the country gathered in San Diego earlier this month for CUNA Mutual Group’s “The Future is NOW” Retirement Planning Summit, the insurance and financial services company announced. The three-day conference included several keynote addresses, a full day of breakout sessions, a peer-to-peer advisor spotlight session and an address by NFL Hall of Fame running back Marcus Allen.
“This event is always a great opportunity to hear what’s on the minds of advisors and the hardworking Americans they meet with every day,” said Elle Switzer, director of annuity product management. “It also affords us an opportunity to share what’s new on the risk control product front at CUNA Mutual Group and to provide training on retirement issues.” Switzer herself gave a presentation on the value of risk control with guaranteed income.
Chad Mueller, head of annuity sales, added that “The Summit is an example of the value-add our advisor partners get from their relationship with CUNA Mutual. We appreciate the opportunity to strengthen our partnership with everyone who was able to attend.”
Other CUNA Mutual Group executives presenting at the conference included: Martin Powell, VP of annuity distribution, who delivered remarks on leadership; David Hanzlik, VP Product, who reviewed the annuity product landscape; Scott Knapp of CUNA Mutual Fiduciary Consultants, who provided a detailed macroeconomic update; and Mike Mason, Regional Sales Director, and Trent Gibbon, Regional Vice President, who ran a workshop on annuity product basics.
CUNA Mutual Group employees and advisor attendees also took time out of the busy agenda to give back, with a school supply bag stuffing exercise that benefitted local San Diego charity KIPP SoCal. Participants assembled 300 school supply backpacks during the exercise and included a personal note of encouragement for the receiving student in each bag.
