CareerWork$Medical: Building meaningful careers in healthcare
LOS ANGELES, CA, September 25, 2019 /Neptune100/ — JVS SoCal is expanding its award winning suite of career training programs with the launch of CareerWork$ Medical®, a free, eight week training program that prepares young adults for in-demand, non-clinical roles with career growth potential. These include customer service representative, patient service coordinator, family support specialist and medical insurance biller.
“We are thrilled to partner with CareerWork$, a division of the Sheri and Les Biller Family Foundation and expand our career training programs,” said Alan Levey, JVS SoCal CEO. “This exciting new program will create tremendous opportunities for individuals in low-income communities to build meaningful careers in a rapidly growing sector.”
This new program is part of the JVSWorks® Career Training suite which includes JVS BankWork$®, JVS ApartmentWorks and JVS HealthWorks. The first class began Sept. 23 in Los Angeles. Students will participate in a graduation ceremony November 18 with a job fair immediately following.
Since their founding in 2006, the award-winning JVSWorks® Career Training Programs have graduated over 2000 participants and placed 81 percent in entry level jobs in the growing banking, healthcare and apartment industries. Together they have earned over $77 million in salaries and benefits and launched careers with genuine pathways for advancement.
In addition to the Sheri and Les Biller Family Foundation, funders of the CareerWork$ Medical® program include The James Irvine Foundation and RadNet.
CareerWork$ Medical was established in Seattle in 2017 by The Sheri and Les Biller Family Foundation. As of June 2019, the program has helped launch over 75 careers in the
Seattle area.
