Cites communication as #1 soft skill lacking in today’s candidates entering the workforce

ST. GEORGE, UT, March 19, 2020 /Neptune100/ — LearnKey, a global workforce solutions provider, announced today it has produced and released a video-based training course on Communication Skills for Business (CSB). This course covers communication skills employers constantly state are lacking in today’s job candidates. The core concepts include professional communication skills; effective verbal, nonverbal, and listening skills; creating business deliverables; effectively delivering a message; receiving communications; and analyzing communication scenarios. “This course is suited for both students in school and adult learners interested in improving their current communication skills.

“Upon completing the CSB course, learners will have the knowledge to communicate in a business setting effectively,” says Jennifer Stubblefield, the expert instructor who teaches this course and has taught Microsoft and business administration for over twenty-six (26) years in public schools. Additionally, the course will also help candidates with the other 3 of “the 4 C’s” (Critical Thinking, Collaboration, and Creativity) and is suited for both students in school and adult learners interested in improving their current communication & employability skills.”

LearnKey has partnered with Certiport, who announced their Communication Skills for Business Certification exam last year, to ensure key objectives are covered on topic. “We are thrilled that LearnKey has produced this course as schools are constantly asking for a way to improve and validate key communication skills,” says Lori Monson, Senior Director NOAM Sales K12 at Certiport. “Yes, skills in Microsoft, Adobe, Digital Literacy, Programming, Web & Graphic design, and many others are important for the hard skills needed in today’s world. However, soft skills, especially in communication, are becoming much more of interest throughout North America,” Monson goes on to say.

LearnKey has validated the need through their employability team working with hundreds of students and counselors to help prepare students for a job in a technology career. “Over 80% of the students we prepare for the workforce may think that the required technical certifications for the job are enough, but it is more than that when going for an interview,” says Kim Johnson, LearnKey’s Vice President of Customer Success. “Now, it will be good to know those skills will be validated through a globally recognized industry certification as well.”
