A total of $4,200 in scholarships have been awarded to three Alabama high school seniors for their essays spotlighting the serious problems of texting and driving.
HUNTSVILLE, AL, May 02, 2020 /Neptune100/ — The law firm of Morris, King & Hodge P.C. is excited to announce the three 2020 Driver Safety Scholarship winners.
Every year since 2015, Morris, King & Hodge, P.C. sponsors a Driver Safety Scholarship program to increase awareness of the dangers associated with distracted driving. Three scholarships are awarded to seniors graduating from high schools in Alabama who plan to attend college.
Students are asked to submit essays that highlight the issues caused by distracted driving, and offer practical information to address this growing problem. Morris, King & Hodge, P.C. selected three winning essays for the Driver Safety Scholarships, after receiving over 60 submissions this year.
The three scholarship winners for 2020 are:
First Place — Anna Grace Keel , a senior at Huntsville High School, who plans to attend Auburn University to pursue a degree in Chemical Engineering.
Second Place — Savannah Campbell, a senior at Buckhorn High School, who plans to attend Belmont University in Nashville, TN to pursue a degree in Neuroscience. Savannah wants to use her degree to conduct research on neurological disorders.
Third Place — Nevaeh Eggleston, a senior at James Clemens High School, who plans to attend the University of Kentucky to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics. After her undergraduate studies are complete, Nevaeh wants to go to law school.
