Four-Decade Career in Water

SAN DIEGO, CA, April 02, 2021 /Neptune100/ — On behalf of Poseidon Water, we’d like to share that on March 31 Peter MacLaggan retired from his four-decade career in water, most recently serving as Senior Vice President at Poseidon Water. Peter was the leading force in turning the Pacific Ocean into a new source of high-quality drinking water that will benefit San Diego County residents for generations to come.

Peter has dedicated the last twenty years of his career at Poseidon Water to the creation and operation of the Claude “Bud” Lewis Carlsbad Desalination Plant, the first of its kind in the Western Hemisphere. Under Peter’s leadership, the desalination plant grew from a concept to a highly acclaimed region-sustaining source of water. The success of the Carlsbad Desalination Plant is not just measured by the new water supply. The public private partnership between the San Diego County Water Authority and Poseidon Water is the first of its kind and Peter’s unwavering commitment to the partnership was instrumental in the success of the Project.

Peter will continue to consult on Poseidon’s ongoing projects and can be reached at [email protected]. We wish Peter the best and hope he enjoys more time with his family and more time in the ocean surfing.
