Global futurist and keynote speaker Jack Uldrich is taking on a new format. His formerly live presentations are going virtual and adding more interactive features for participants at the TSAE New Ideas Virtual Conference.

DALLAS, TX, October 07, 2020 /Neptune100/ — Today, October 7th, Futurist Jack Uldrich will deliver two fresh new back-to-back keynotes based on his upcoming book, Business as Unusual and ‘the Great Reset’ for the Texas Society of Association Executives (TSAE) New Ideas Virtual Conference.

What would have once been a live presentation delivered on stage, in-person in Austin, TX, will now be delivered in two new ways. The keynotes will be pre-recorded and edited by the Association, and participants will interact with the chat feature during the talk. A live on-screen question and answer session will follow.

Uldrich says the dynamic is exciting. “This means I have to embrace a lot of the technology I’ve been touting for the past few years. Whether you’re a professional speaker or not, many of us are racing to get savvy with video equipment, lighting, sound, and editing. There is also the new dynamic of talking into a tiny little camera, which is astoundingly different than connecting with a live audience.

“It has an upside and a downside.

“The carbon footprint is a huge upside. I traveled a great deal for my gigs before the pandemic. Now, I walk to my office to write, and I do most of my video shoots from my home office. Our house is slowly filling up with new equipment. Some of the rooms in our house now serve as storage for that gear.

“My wife is becoming an expert in lighting and sound.

“I am learning to become more nimble, remembering to keep my chin up and stay mindful of my posture, to keep my gestures to a minimum. This new format will challenge my dexterity. I’ll need to keep my eye on the chatbox and shift my eyes on the camera when I speak but look to the screen and limit any distractions when participants are engaging. It calls for focus and flow. It really tests your ability to be present.

“Millions of people are learning to do this. It’s both exciting and daunting. As a futurist, I have to stay up to speed with the trends, or I will lose my credibility. My main job when I am speaking is to stay connected with my audience and motivate them to think about the future differently. If I can embrace these changes, it feels like an excellent way to model that for my clients.”

Uldrich’s new format sounds like the perfect way to connect, inform, and inspire his Texas-based audience members forward into the future.
