Valley Roofing’s free roof giveaway will provide a new roof to a Shenandoah Valley resident in need
HARRISONBURG, VA, July 29, 2020 /Neptune100/ — Valley Roofing announced today that voting is now underway for their 2020 No Roof Left Behind campaign. This nationwide program provides a free roof to a local community member in need. The roofing contractor in Harrisonburg joined the national No Roof Left Behind initiative as a way to give back to the community they have been serving since 2004.
“This is something we do to give back to our community every year,” said Anson Martin, President of Valley Roofing. “This year, in particular, lots of families are dealing with very difficult financial situations, so this program is desperately needed.”
Nominations for the program came in from across the Harrisonburg, Staunton, and Charlottesville regions. Virginia residents nominated friends, neighbors, and family members in need of a new roof. From those submissions, four finalists were verified and chosen for the final online public voting campaign.
Family members and friends submitted the nominations. This year’s nominees live in Mount Crawford, Fort Defiance, Rockingham County, and Stuarts Draft. Most of the nominees are elderly, living on fixed incomes, and have limited mobility. The roofing issues nominees are dealing with range from severe wind and shingle damage to a rotted roofing deck, leaky roof, and water damage on the ceiling.
“So many of the stories we heard from the nominees are really tough,” Martin said. “It’s so hard to make a decision like this, which is why we need help from local community members to decide.”
The four finalists‘ stories and photos are displayed on the No Roof Left Behind website. The public is able to vote for the finalist they feel is most deserving. Voting ends August 28, and the winner will be revealed on August 31.
“We wish we could do this more than once a year because there are many local families dealing with financial hardship right now,” Martin said. “But this is one way our roofing company can do something good for someone who really needs it. We look forward to seeing our neighbors and customers come together to help a local family in need.”
