Steve Tyler has been cast as the quintessential straight man in many of Academy Award Winner Peter Farrelly’s and Farrelly Brother films including Kingpin, There’s Something About Mary, Me, Myself & Irene, Shallow Hal, Stuck on You and The Three Stooges. Other film roles include Boys Life 3, River Made to Drown In, The Journey of Jared Price written and directed by Academy Award winner Dustin Lance Black , Perfect Ending and Elena Undone . Tyler has recurred in such popular television series in “Desperate Housewives,” “Days of Our Lives” and “General Hospital.” Tyler started his career modeling; his stint as the KOOL cigarette man, in the worldwide billboard and print campaign, quickly defined his jocular charisma and wide-range appeal in the commercial marketplace. He has appeared in over 1,000 print campaigns and television commercials worldwide.

As well-known off screen as he is on, Tyler was a 30-year volunteer Big Brothers of America and the national spokesman for Big Brothers of America. Using his status as an established actor and activist, he has produced theatrical benefit events that include: DeGeneres – Di Rossi – DeGeneres Art Show, Ellen DeGeneres LIVE in Concert, Flowers Food and Art at Connie Stevens Estate for GLASS, The Ellen DeGeneres Show benefit and star-studded staged readings of Boys in the Band and three previous All-Star Celebrity staged readings of Valley of the Dolls.

Tyler co-founded Playwrights’ Arena, a celebrated non-profit theater company that discovers and nurtures LA Playwrights, artists and designers. Playwrights Arena and Tyler’s own productions have been the recipients of numerous Drama awards for its original productions – many of which have gone on to premiere to critical acclaim off-Broadway. Tyler originated the roles of Jason Lawrence in “First Couple” at The Tiffany Theater and the role of Joseph Willacombe in “The Cat’s Meow” at The Coast which later became a film directed by Peter Bogdonavich.

Born in Brookline, Massachusetts Tyler continues to be an effective force in philanthropic and political arenas, while balancing his acting career. He proudly champions the causes that support equality for women, children, LGBTQ, animal and human rights. He is very proud to be currently serving as Board of Directors Co-Chair for Alcott Center for Mental Health in Los Angeles.
