Delaware alternative rock/funk band breaks new ground with their second independent release.
WILMINGTON, DE, March 03, 2021 /Neptune100/ — As the popularity of their first single, “Karnivor ft. Redman” continues to climb, Indie Alt Rock/Funk band, Genesis Z and The Black Mambas, recently released a 2-song project titled, “Heartbreakers”, through US-based label White Lion Audio and InGrooves Music Group.
The “Heartbreakers” mini EP features two versions of this upbeat dark rock/funk track. The radio edit features all the incredible elements of the song, while the extended version provides almost a full minute of additional content including a sultry musical break after the second chorus.
“Heartbreakers” is done in typical Black Mambas style complete with Jovan ‘Lucky’ Jefferson’s ‘perfect pocket’ drum play coupled with Gregory ‘Red’ Lundmark’s ground-pounding bass lines. Genesis Doyle, (aka Genesis Z), brings a David Bowie-meets-Prince vibe to the vocal presentation that is enhanced by veteran guitarist, Geoffrey Giordano, and the scorching hot lead guitar work of Dustin Manucci.
This song is a masterpiece. There are so many moving parts that you will have to replay it again and again to catch everything, but it fits together like an engine and hums like a well-oiled machine. “Heartbreakers” is a perfect follow-up to the dance/funk feel of “Karnivor” featuring rap icon, Redman. In fact, playing the songs back-to-back feels like two sides of the same coin in terms of content and message.
The fans of Wilmington, Delaware and the world must agree as the popularity of the band led a local brewer, Frank Pagliaro, to name a Japanese Whiskey after the band. Black Mambas Whiskey Elixir is available at Frankswine.com and is one of their top selling items.
Genesis Z, originally from Subic Bay, Philippines, is a known singer-songwriter-musician and producer. He has produced for the likes of Busta Rhymes, Spliff Star, Rah Digga, Nate Dogg, Slim Da Mobster, Kat Williams, Ty James, and many more iconic names. Genesis has also scored and demoed songs for Lauren Hill, Seal, and Christina Milian.
The band leader describes their music as snippets and pieces of their lives, “Every song is a page, and every album is a chapter”, says Genesis. We look forward to hearing what the next chapter will bring and we will toast them with the whiskey that bears their name.
Genesis Z & The Black Mambas are presently available for performances, interviews, and special guest appearances.
