NYC premiere screening of Hansi Oppenheimer’s latest film All Hail the Popcorn King celebrating prolific author, Joe R Lansdale with special performance by his daughter, Kasey Lansdale. Her songs have been featured on Hap & Leonard and Cold in July.
NEW YORK, NY, October 17, 2019 /Neptune100/ — From Bubba Ho-Tep to Hap and Leonard, Joe Lansdale has left his indelible mark on popular culture. For fans that have followed the author’s storied career, All Hail the Popcorn King is something of a monument.
Joe’s unique voice has spanned multiple genres and has been adapted for film and television. He has supported and collaborated with generations of writers and filmmakers. The film celebrates his contributions to the worlds of literature and entertainment through interviews with his many colleagues and fans including actors Bruce Campbell, James Purefoy, Yuri Lowenthal, Director Don Coscarelli and writers Joe Hill, Mick Garris, David J Schow, Keith, Kasey & Karen Lansdale, Brian Keene, and Del Howison among other genre luminaries.
The screening and event will be held at The Alamo Draft House at 445 Albee Square West #4 in Brooklyn on Tuesday, December 3 from 1-4 pm. Following the premiere, there will be a Q & A session with director, Hansi Oppenheimer and a special performance by Kasey Lansdale.
