LOS ANGELES, CA, January 22, 2020 /Neptune100/ — Women In Media is hosting their 2nd annual Sundance Welcome Dinner and their Sundance Open Haus event during the Sundance Film Festival. The Sundance Welcome Dinner sponsored by ZEISS is on January 24th, 2020 at 6pm and consists of dinner and networking. The Sundance Open Haus event sponsored by ZEISS and Impact24 PR is a brunch and panel on January 26th, 2020 at 10am at WiM Haus in Park City, Utah.

Panelists for the Open Haus event include Quyen Tran (Director of Photography), Tara Miele (Director), Carolina Costa (Director of Photography), Katie Byron (Production Designer) and Ava Benjamin Shorr (Director of Photography). Women in Media Executive Director, Tema L. Staig, will moderate the Open Haus panel.

Quyen Tran is a Cinematographer whose credits include Palm Springs (2020), which is premiering at the Sundance Film Festival and stars Andy Samberg and JK Simmons. Her other credits include The Little Hours (2017), Unbelievable (2019), and Deidre & Laney Rob a Train. Tara Miele is the Director and Writer of Wander Darkly (2020) starring Diego Luna and Sienna Miller, which will have its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival. Her directing credits include episodes of CW’s Green Arrow, Batwoman, Hawaii Five-0, and the viral short film Meet a Muslim (2016).

Carolina Costa is the Cinematographer on Tara Miele’s Wander Darkly (2020). Her other credits include Workforce (2019), Hala (2019), and Crystal Swan (2018) among others. Katie Byron is a Production Designer whose work includes Wander Darkly (2020), Zola (2020), and Olivia Wilde’s Booksmart (2019).

Ava Benjamin Shorr is the Director of Photography on Disclosure: Trans Lives on Screen (2020) executive produced by Laverne Cox, which is a documentary premiering at the Sundance film Festival. She was awarded an ASC Vision Mentorship with Rachel Morrison and was on Emmy Rossum’s list of “Mind Blowing Women Cinematographers.” Her credits include Razor Tongue (2019) and Malacostraca (2018).
