About Christopher Flach

Christopher is an American painter, sculptor, photographer. and filmmaker. In 2014, Daphne Merkin of Departure Magazine, wrote as a featured artist with the Gerald Bland Gallery since 2010, Christopher’s paintings have a “stark Cy Twombly feel to them.” Christopher’s works are predominantly large-scale, freely painted on solid fields of gray, silver, or off-white colors on paper. His sculpture works in clay and bronze are particularly influenced by Honoré Daumier.

As an Artist, Christopher’s works are globally held in private and in public collections. Christopher has participated in several film festivals including the Best in New Media Film Festival (Los Angeles) in 2011 and Sleepless in Miami in 2012.

His artwork was hosted in a group exhibition at Cheim & Read Gallery, sold at Christie’s Auction House and honored by Anna Sui, the fashion designer in 2013.

He participated in several group shows, including “Creative Mischief” at the National Academy Museum of Art in New York City. In 2014.

Christopher participated in collaboration with the illumination of the arts and the San Francisco Cameraworks “Up all Night” exhibition. In August 2014 Flach’s paintings transformed as set design the Historic Cesis Castle wall, where he installed nine large-scale portraits of Latvian artists.

New York City 2016 – 16th Tokyo – Christopher participated in the New York Friendship Ceramic Competition.

In 2019 Christopher’s multimedia DJ projection was featured opening night of the 2019 Cēsis Art Festival in Latvia. The festival included the celebrated painter Vija Celmins, abstract expressionist Edvins Strautmanis, three-dimensional paintings by Sven Lukin, illustrator/graphic designer Maris Bishovs, animator Signe Baumene and contemporary artists Arturs Virtmanis and Indrikis Gelzis as well as Dovanna Pagowski.
