New features in youth mental wellness app help students connect and share resources to confront the stresses of the pandemic and ensuing social isolation

LOS GATOS, CA, April 02, 2020 /Neptune100/ — Lyftly, the first of its kind “all-in-one” mental health platform/app dedicated to youth, announced today that it has added new features and enhancements to help alleviate stress and fears resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic and resulting social isolation. This public health crisis, which has led to school and college closures and social distancing, is causing young people to feel increased fear, anxiety, stress and depression. The app is offering expanded connectivity between users, 24/7 support as well as resources on the pandemic to address the uncertainty youth are experiencing.

Mental illness in youth is already a near-epidemic issue. The Coronavirus pandemic only adds to this urgency. “There is a lot of newfound uncertainty and now a lot of time at home to worry about it,” said Reine Lederer, a sophomore at Northeastern University in Boston. “Many college students feel lost without their standard university support system.”

In response to this crisis, Lyftly has enhanced its continuous engagement, motivation and support of youth by implementing new features and additions as well as supportive in-App and mobile messaging. These will help the students manage the transition to remote classes and living at home in isolation. A ​special Useful Links tab has been added. Lyftly’s goal is to enable youths to avoid physical interactions while stay connected with supportive peer groups.

Students can also anonymously, digitally chat with Lyftly expert peers who are specially trained to provide COVID-19-related guidance. All these new features, enhancements and support are available effective immediately on iOS and Android versions.
