[06 July, 2016 Mumbai, India] The students at Xavier College, Mumbai recently found themselves immersed in a cauldron of technology, entertainment and design. No, it wasn’t their cultural festival but the coveted TEDx event with the theme ‘Beyond Limits’ that they organized recently. With speakers drawn from various fields of life, the event’s mission was to inspire minds and seek deep discussions among people at large.

One of the speakers of this event was Ms. Sarita Raghuvanshi, one of India’s most renowned emcees’. Hailing from a small town, her family believed that a good Indian girl becomes either an Engineer or a Doctor. She did become an Engineer and kept her engineering degree at the bay to pursue a career in public speaking as an anchorperson/emcee. Since 2007, she has anchored 900+ events in 15+ countries.

After being invited to the TEDx event of Xavier College, Mumbai as a speaker, she has become the First Indian Female Emcee to give a TEDx talk. This achievement has been appreciated by veterans of the events industry. Moreover, this has inspired budding emcees’. Talking about this, Ms. Bhanu Kumari, a college student who wants to become an emcee said “Sarita Raghuvanshi is indeed an inspiration for me. Her ability to connect with the audience coupled with her stage performance skills is what I look forward to adapt. After watching her TEDx talk video, I am highly motivated to pursue my dream.”
