LOS ANGELES, CA, November 30, 2020 /Neptune100/ — Biosecurity solution specialist J2C has successfully exported a total of 10,000 sets of its high-performance camera lenses, image sensors, and IR filters, thanks to Pangyo Technovalley’s global promotion video being spotted by China’s Hubei Best Combine Photoelectricity.

J2C directly develops and manufactures both iris recognition software and hardware, and it is a small giant with strong technological power with over 20 domestic and international patents related to iris recognition technology. The company designs and develops its own optical parts to gain competitiveness and provide iris recognition solutions.

While most iris recognition devices use universal cameras, J2C directly produces iris recognition camera modules to capture high-definition iris images from a longer distance, and the self-developed IR-LED module uses less current while emitting more than twice as bright light, so it can capture the iris image without overheating the device under brighter light than conventional devices sensitive to external light.

“Ultimately, the security market is bound to become biometric. Especially as we are going through the COVID-19 pandemic, the role of the non-contact iris recognition method has become bigger.” She added, “The biggest reason for the low activation of the iris recognition market is because of ‘high price’ and ‘low recognition rate’.” To solve this problem, Kim decided to develop her own core components, which account for 70% of the price and performance of the iris recognition system. J2’s iris recognition device using self-developed optical components enables iris recognition within 0.3 seconds without taking off glasses at a distance that is twice as long as other competitors (25 cm), and has an accuracy of 99% or more.

J2’s products and technologies with such excellent performance are drawing attention from overseas markets, leading to sales. J2C fired the flare gun of pioneering overseas markets with Pangyo Technovalley Global Promotional Video produced with the support of Gyeonggi-do to support Pangyo companies pioneering overseas markets. This Pangyo Technovalley Global Promotional Video showing J2C’s products and technologies in detail was shown to China’s Hubei Best Combine Photoelectricity, and this led to sales of 62,952 dollars by exporting 10,000 sets of the camera lenses, image sensors, and IR filters to the Chinese market in last August.

There were some sales made in Korea as well. Company S had purchased two sets of Alkaid as samples (USD 500) for testing, and depending on the test results, it will be used for attendance record, entrance control, and approving documents for almost 1,000 employees. Also, a distributor in Korea purchased 10 sets of Alkaid and four sets of Mizar (USD 12,500) to conduct promotion in a city in Gyeonggi-do.

With this opportunity, J2C is planning to further accelerate the development of overseas markets and “increase the technology base and price competitiveness so that many people can safely use biometric security technology based on iris recognition” through continuous product development.
