Assisted Living Facility announces new creative space for residents
LITTLETON, CO, March 29, 2020 /Neptune100/ — This month Manor on Marston Lake is excited to announce the opening of a brand new creative space for our residents to enjoy engaging with other seniors in creativity, artwork, discussions and friendship building. This new space offers a great way for residents to
build joy and community in an assisted living setting. In the weeks leading up to the grand opening of this new engagement and art activity area, both staff and residents contributed input and ideas as to how a new “engagement and activity studio” would function and feel in their building.
The facility took some underutilized space and breathed new excitement and energy into it to create a space conducive to expressing creativity throughout every day. One of the primary roles in caring for seniors is to help them feel joy, and in doing so residents and their family members feel better about the business model and the care they receive. Engaging seniors in creativity, artwork, discussions and friendship is a great way to build joy and community in an assisted living setting. Because it is a “creative space,” the hope is that it evolves as residents and staff discover new ways to engage and express their creativity.
Activities and Engagement Director Rebecca Wittwer stated, “It’s such a bright and happy space to do activities any time of the day!”
