A longtime proponent for gender and racial equality, Sarda most recently co-produced “And She Could Be Next,” which was executive produced by AvaDuVernay. Why This Talk Is Critical
Studies predict that because women have left or been forced out of the workforce four times more than men because of Covid-19, advances they have made in the workforce will be set back 10 years.

“While there are many critical tasks related to Covid-19 to address in the coming months, we must ensure that women’s needs are front and center during and after the pandemic,” says GloriaFeldt, Take The Lead’s co-founder. “This talk is one of the first steps that will examine and offer actionable recommendations that can ease the current crisis and lower the obstacles facing professional women. We can’t overlook the critical fact that a full economic recovery must include the participation of women,” she concludes.

The moderators concur. “We are at a crossroads,” says Sarda. “Action must be taken immediately. Hundreds of thousands of women have already left the workplace due to the pandemic. We need to stem this tide, and look for ways to bring women back into the workforce and protect those who remain with fair and equitable options that will allow them to stay in their jobs.”

“Covid-19 has had a disproportionate impact on Black Americans and all communities of color,” says Jackson. “Black women are drivers of our economy and our government. And we have been most impacted by these times, alongside our historically marginalized sisters. It is our time to take a prominent seat at tables we help build. When we are served and protected, every other woman on the planet is elevated.”

Proceeds from the event will enable Take The Lead to fund scholarships and provide programming such as its digital leadership course (https://www.taketheleadwomen.com/9-leadership-power-tools-to-accelera … ine-course), Premier Coaching Services (https://www.taketheleadwomen.com/coaching), 50 Women Can Change the World program, and more. “Take The Lead’s most important goal for 2021 is to continue to service and offer resources to shift the pandemic’s negative impact on women of all backgrounds to positive change toward equity, fairness, and inclusion,” says Feldt.
