With stay-at-home orders and increased stress, U.S. consumers are drinking in the tea lifestyle. Fusion Teas is at the forefront of this new wave of tea consumption in Texas.
MCKINNEY, TX, July 07, 2020 /Neptune100/ — Fusion Teas, a locally owned business with a brick and mortar shop and an e-commerce site, expands to house rapid growth as more people turned to tea for both solace and health benefits at the start of the COVID crisis… and then kept on buying.
Fusion Teas was founded in 2010 and is owned and run by husband-and-wife team Thomas and Theann Egbert in McKinney, Texas. This small, family business is focused on spreading health and happiness by selling high-quality teas and making loose leaf tea accessible—a healthy habit that people will want to reach for every day.
The U.S. specialty tea industry is growing rapidly due to COVID, and Fusion Teas is at the forefront of this new wave of tea consumption in Texas. At the start of the crisis, sales went from a steady stream to a tsunami as more people drank in the tea lifestyle. Theann says:
“We’re thrilled that more people are turning to such a healthy, relaxing beverage in this stressful, challenging time. Right now, people need what tea has to offer, and we’re proud to share our curated selection of truly delicious teas with folks in Texas and beyond.”
Indeed, with stay-at-home orders, increased interest in health, 24/7 access to an area where one can brew tea, and people seeking solace as health and other tensions rise across the U.S., it’s no wonder their online tea sales have tripled. In response, the Egberts scrambled to keep their operations flowing smoothly during the expansion. Thomas says:
“Our old space was only 800 square feet and we were busting at the seams. This new place is 2200 square feet, including a modern retail shop for locals and McKinney visitors.”
Located at 1905 University Business Dr. Suite 604 in McKinney, Texas, the new warehouse/storefront is in the same business park as before, but its size nearly triples the footprint of their former location. The modern design includes a glass partition between the retail space and the warehouse, allowing customers a peek behind the scenes, much like in restaurants with open kitchens or in certain facilities that produce specialty sweets.
The shop will open for walk-in customers in July. From July 13th through 27th, while supplies last, visitors will receive a free loose-leaf tea tin featuring a latch closure with the purchase of three or more ounces of loose leaf tea—enough to brew about 45 cups (or many more for tea types that re-brew well, like the connoisseur favorite, oolong).
