TOKYO, JAPAN, January 28, 2020 /Neptune100/ — HealthyTOKYO announced the opening of Japan’s first dedicated CBD shop & cafe in the famous and fashionable Harajuku district of Tokyo. This unique store offers a delicious vegan menu of hand-crafted CBD oil infused sweets and drinks and a full line-up of the company’s popular CBD products. HealthyTOKYO CBD Shop & Cafe opens its doors in the world’s most populated city on February 1, 2020.

The company behind this new concept has a long history of firsts. In 2016, HealthyTOKYO pioneered the introduction of CBD oil in Japan. In 2018, the company opened HeathyTOKYO Cafe & Shop in Tokyo’s Haneda Airport. This is the first vegan cafe in any Japanese airport.

The new shop & cafe in Harajuku offers their popular vegan drinks and sweets infused with HealthyTOKYO CBD oil. Among their many offerings, you will find vegan cheesecake, mont blanc, gateau au chocolat and gluten-free lasagna as well as organic matcha and coffee drinks. Many of their food and drink items are also available without CBD.

The store sells their entire line of HealthyTOKYO brand CBD products along with guest offerings. Here you can find the widest range of all-natural CBD oils in various concentrations and flavors, topical creams, cosmetics, gummy bears, capsules and other CBD-infused products.

“We are excited about the launch of this first-in-Japan CBD focused shop and cafe. Our customer base has grown greatly in the past few years and many have asked us to expand with a downtown shop,” says Michael Bobrove, Founder and CEO of HealthyTOKYO. “This new shop gives our current and future customers a chance to try, experience and learn about CBD in Japan. Our knowledgeable staff are always available to answer questions with a smile.”

CBD oil (cannabidiol) is extracted from the hemp plant. Results from years of research with CBD indicate positive effects in a number of health-related areas. It is popular among people seeking stress reduction, pain relief, better sleep and anti-inflammatory properties for skin conditions. CBD can be consumed as an oil, infused into food or drink and is also becoming a popular key component in cosmetics and creams. To sell CBD in Japan it must be produced according to defined legal standards and not contain detectable levels of THC (the substance that can cause a euphoric effect).

In recent years CBD has experienced tremendous growth in the US, Canada and Europe. According to Forbes, the US market alone for CBD is expected to reach US$ 20 billion by 2024. Japan is the first country in Asia to allow for the sale of CBD and products have been available since 2016. The market in Japan is expected to grow exponentially from 2020 as more people learn about the greater availability and benefits of CBD products.

Japan is also experiencing a major growth in tourism with more than 33 million visitors in 2019. With the upcoming 2020 Tokyo Olympics, the country is expected to see a further spurt to 40 million visitors from overseas. WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency) announced that CBD is officially allowed, making this year the first where Olympic Athletes will be able to openly benefit from CBD. The HealthyTOKYO CBD Shop & Cafe is located just a 10 minute walk from the New National Stadium, recently built to host the 2020 Olympics.
