UrbaCon Trading & Contracting (UCC), an affiliate of UCC Holding, achieved 1 Million Safe Man without Lost Time Injury (LTI) in its ongoing marine works project in Gewan Island.

DOHA, QATAR, December 19, 2020 /Neptune100/ — UrbaCon Trading & Contracting (UCC), an affiliate of UCC Holding, achieved 1 Million Safe Man without Lost Time Injury (LTI) in its ongoing marine works project in Gewan Island.

A ceremony was held to celebrate the excellent HSE performance of the teams, and certificates of recognition were given to top-performing workers and employees. The event was attended by all project team executives and workers of UCC–Promar JV, together with representatives of United Development Co. (UDC), Faithful Gould, and DAR Qatar.

The project logged a total of 1 million safe man hours as of October 2020.

Earlier this year, UCC Holding received the title overall “Country Winner” at the International Safety Awards 2020 by the British Safety Council. The British Safety Council award is one of the most prestigious awards given to construction companies that have demonstrated commitment to occupational health, safety, environmental and well-being.

Gewan Island is UDC’s latest real-estate project that spans 400,000 sqm. According to UDC’s website, upon project completion, Gewan Island will accommodate 3,500 residents and will be home to hundreds of residential units and apartments.
