Novels honored as Best Fiction Series with Next Generation Indie Book Award

NORTH ATTLEBORO, MA, May 19, 2020 /Neptune100/ — New England author of gripping psychological thrillers, Gledé Browne Kabongo is an Eric Hoffer Award Grand Prize Finalist and category winner, and an IPPY (Independent Publisher Book Award) Silver medalist for her novel Winds of Fear, a ‘chilling, edge-of-your-seat’ psychological thriller about a suburban mom whose suspicions about her new neighbors lead to a desperate race against time to save her missing son.

Winds of Fear is the third standalone novel in Kabongo’s Fearless Series, which was also recognized with the Next Generation Indie Book Award for Best Fiction Series. The novels feature protagonist Abbie Cooper, a funny, intelligent, and courageous young millennial who squares off against diabolical opponents, and perilous situations that push her beyond her limits.

“I’m elated that Winds of Fear has struck a chord with readers and judges alike,” Kabongo said. “I wanted each story in the series to be told with gripping suspense and powerful emotional resonance. It’s humbling that the judges of multiple literary award programs have validated that desire.” The book trailer for Winds of Fear can be viewed on YouTube.

Reviewers have described the books in the Fearless Series as, “gripping and powerful”, “stunning”, “outstanding”, “freakin genius”, and “the best cloak and dagger thriller I’ve read in a while”.

The Eric Hoffer Award, IPPY and Next Generation Indie Book Awards recognize and honor excellence in independently published books. The Eric Hoffer Award honors the memory of the great American philosopher Eric Hoffer. Because of COVID-19, award galas have been cancelled and will be replaced by virtual ceremonies.
