Expert will discuss avoiding valuation surprises in accounting for M&A deals

Patel will present on the topic “Avoiding Valuation Surprises in Accounting for M&A Transactions.”

“From new lease accounting rules, potential changes to the treatment of intangible assets and evolving approaches to inventory valuation, it was already a tough time to sort out the valuation implications of an acquisition,” said Patel. “Now, if you layer in even more uncertainty associated with a global health crisis, the challenge is truly daunting. I look forward to engaging on all these topics with corporate professionals and their advisors at what promises to be a dynamic event.”

The M&A Science Virtual Summit is a gathering to allow top-level practitioners to share lessons and experiences. During the summit, over 30 industry professionals will cover various M&A topics. Topics to be addressed include the future of M&A, aligning strategy with the M&A process, maximizing value during integration, the intersection of leadership and culture in M&A, and employee experience. In addition to Patel, presenters will include bankers and legal advisors, along with corporate development executives from Google, Microsoft, Dell, Caterpillar, and other companies.

The M&A Science Virtual Summit is free to attend and runs June 10-11. Patel is scheduled to speak on June 10, at 2pm EDT. An agenda and registration information may be found at www.mascience.com.
