Giving Health and MyTelemedicine join together to provide 1000 FREE Telehealth memberships to individuals and families-in-need in Atlanta, Ga.

ATLANTA, GA, October 22, 2019 /Neptune100/ — Giving Health, a Georgia based nonprofit, announced this week that it has received a generous donation that will enable the organization to register and enroll the first 1000 uninsured individuals and families in Atlanta. This free service provides eligible Atlanta residents 24/7 on-demand access to licensed Physicians or Counselors by phone, internet, or smart device, from anywhere at no cost.

The donation was made by MyTelemedicine of McKinney, Texas, a national leader in the delivery of telehealth services to health plans and employer provided benefits to employees. The donation of 1000 telehealth memberships is a vital contribution to ongoing efforts to break down barriers to accessing quality, affordable healthcare. “We are grateful for the leadership team at MyTelemedicine to make this substantial commitment to the health and well-being of our neighbors in need in Georgia. We hope this will spark local business leaders, foundations, and individual donors to come along side and help sponsor more of the 20,000 uninsured individuals and families in our own backyard,” states Giving Health Chairman David Whelan. A tax-deductible donation of just $9 per month or $99 a year enables a family of up to 8 members to have unlimited access for an entire year. Tax deductible donations can be made at www.GivingHealth.org

The roll out of this program follows a 2-year development cycle by Giving Health and its nonprofit partners, which include Good Samaritan Health Center of Atlanta, the Veterans Empowerment Organization, and Westside Health Collaborative. According to Giving Health COO Michael Giglio, “We couldn’t be where we are today without the considerable support and assistance of our community partners and MyTelemedicine. We are breaking new ground together as we strive to reshape how healthcare can be accessed in underserved communities.”

“Our organization is proud to have been selected by Giving Health as their national telehealth partner. Our focus on innovation through technology has helped establish MyTelemedicine as one of the nation’s premier telehealth service providers. We also believe that innovation is facilitated and even accelerated through community partnerships that help us adapt our telehealth solutions directly to the needs of the end user. MyTelemedicine is excited to work with Giving Health to improve health outcomes by transforming how healthcare is accessed by individuals and families in need in Georgia,” states founder and CEO of MyTelemedicine Rey Colon.
